Knights Baseball History

The Northern Virginia Knights baseball team has become a perennial powerhouse in a league featuring some of the most competitive baseball around: the Washington DC Wood wooden bat league (Federal League).

The Knights' legacy began in the Fall of 2005, when eighteen young men with diverse baseball and career backgrounds dusted off idle arms and bats, laced up old and worn cleats, and came out to play ball. They braved the scorching late summer heat and gridlocked DC traffic, and were the founding squad of the DC Knights.

In the seasons that followed, the Knights established themselves among the upper echelon of teams in DC, and have three times reigned as league champions (DC Wood Fall 2006, Summer 2008, and Fall 2013). They have gained the respect of the league and their peers for the professionalism, integrity, and attitude they bring to each game. They show up to play ball, and have a great time doing it.

Though many of its core players have moved on, the Knights' will look to their talented veterans for leadership and promising rookies for motivation as the Summer 2017 season approaches.

Look for the Knights to continue to make an impact in the Federal League and build upon an already impressive legacy. Hold the Rope!
